Medical USCIS Check-Ups.

Join us for a monthly medical clinic on the second Saturday of every month. Our trained medical professionals will conduct medical check-ups for immigration paperwork.

This is an excellent opportunity for applicants to get medical clearance from USCIS and move closer to their immigration goals.

Why we do this program:

Ever since the creation of Ellis Island (1890’s), there has been a requirement that to enter the United States long-term, you must receive an inspection that includes a medical examination. Until you receive that medical exam, you cannot obtain a work permit, any form of permanent residency, or social benefits. While this has been a requirement for 130+ years, this exam is still not covered by insurance. This means the set price for this exam is to be competitive with other physicians in the area. The average cost in Oregon for this federally mandated medical exam for immigration purposes is $500 per individual. However, at our location in Beaverton Oregon we do this medical exam for free.

This clinic was started in 2019 by doctors who wanted to provide significant financial relief to those who just arrived in the country and are trying to acclimate to their new home. This clinic is 100% volunteer run with several doctors that are registered as civil surgeons, a mandatory vetted status required by USCIS to run this medical paperwork. As a result, we have heard over 20 different languages from 34 different countries in the last 5 years. We have helped newly arrived Afghanis collect work permits, Burmese and Rohingya get approved to go to school, and families from Congo, Tanzania, and Eritrea all try to get social benefits in the US; these exams help families move forward in living here and become part of our diverse community. Often, our clinic sees families that are 5 to 7 in size and we are serving approximately 400 individuals annually.

Dental Clinics.

Are you experiencing any tooth pain, swelling, or bleeding? We host dental clinics frequently to help families that are struggling to find dental care in Beaverton. While we focus on families that have just arrived, don’t have OHP yet, or can’t get in to see a dentist we are open to all communities experiencing pain.
